Satellite J11 repair

PC itself looks working fine using external monitor through VGA connector.

So the backlight of LCD suddenly died.
But intermittently LCD backlight comes back....
Then, I dis-assembled ....
Finally I touched the LCD backlight inverter, after I disassemble the whole PC. When I removed the plastic tube around the PCB assembly, the Yellow (surface mounted) transformer fell out. Solder surface looked rust out.
Resoldering could come back the LCD back light though....

fluorescent light repair

Solder crack found at the back of L1.

Iguess L1 is the AC line noise choke.

This fluorescent light has been used at the ceiling of the stair ways over 15 years. Its been made big beep sound while light is ON. The L1 wire looked not so tight so L1's noise/vibration could be the source of this crack.

Resoldering could solve the problem temporary.

It is still beeping then soon the same will happen.
